About

I was diagnosed with FND in July of 2021. It derailed my previous life in ways I could never have imagined. It took away the career I had spent my life pursuing, my capabilities of performing normal daily activities and challenging what I knew about myself. Since then, I have spent my time relearning my body and finding ways to improve my life, mainly through food, movement and lifestyle changes. I just couldn't accept how debilitating my symptoms were and that there was basically no help for me. I went through every avenue that I could to help better myself and although everyone's journey is different, we are also very alike in our stories as this disability is wildly misunderstood. FND has placed limitations on my life but it has also given me insight of my own strength and resilience. I created this blog to document what I've learned and shared what has worked for me so that maybe someone else can improve their own situation. I have been able to get back to work in a new field, continue my own hobbies, and I am a certified yoga instructor and personal trainer now, and most days I am able to live close to normal. I know my brain is different now and that I need to work around my limits though I never take any day for granted, good or bad.
